He made it clear to the press that the debut is not 2031. This move follows a series of delays for the project, which was originally scheduled for 2025 before being pushed to 2027, 2030 and effectively the middle of the next decade.
Shifting market realities drove the pivot away from immediate electrification. Hallmark attributed the delay to changing legislation because regulatory mandates evolve faster than manufacturers can manage. The automaker also cited low customer demand for high-end electric vehicles as a primary factor. Battery-electric vehicles are only needed to satisfy legislative compliance in certain markets just before 2035. This timeline removes the urgency to rush a battery-powered flagship to the showroom.
