Nacon has officially announced the Revolution 5 Unlimited, an officially licensed PlayStation 5 controller that features a built-in settings screen. This integrated display allows users to adjust joystick sensitivity and remap buttons directly on the device. The inclusion of an on-board display represents a shift toward hardware-level control that reduces the need for external applications during active play. Users can also use the screen as an audio mixing hub for wired headsets to balance game sounds and incoming phone audio simultaneously.
This new flagship builds upon the Revolution range of peripherals originally launched in 2016. Nacon designed the gamepad with an asymmetrical stick layout for players who demand modular hardware. The device features drift-resistant tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) thumbsticks to eliminate mechanical wear. Both thumbsticks accept alternate heads with different designs to suit specific preferences. A swappable D-pad sits below the left stick and offers a choice between four-way and eight-way designs to assist with combo moves in fighting games.
Physical customization includes adjustable weights of 10, 14 and 16 grams that fit into the non-slip grips. Adjustable travel limits on the primary triggers allow players to shorten pull distance for faster reactions. Four additional shortcut buttons occupy the back of the chassis near a dedicated profile-switching button. The shoulder buttons complement these shortcuts to provide a comprehensive suite of remappable inputs.
While designed for PlayStation 5, the Revolution 5 Unlimited works with PCs, Smart TVs and Android devices. A companion mobile app provides tools to tweak EQ profiles and modify the RGB lighting surrounding the right stick. Users may also adjust thumbstick response curves through this software interface. The Revolution 5 Unlimited is available for pre-orders now through the official online store and includes a wireless charging dock.
