Tyler, the Creator’s Winter 2019 GOLF WANG collection is soon landing with a racing-inspired assortment that’s doused in a bold primary palette, taking a more vivid approach than the previous pastel-brushed iteration for Spring/Summer 2019. Today, the brand shared the accompanying lookbook for the upcoming array of sporty pieces, showcasing a vibrant mix of colors and quirky patterns across outerwear, collared shirts, pullovers and more.

The initial first look presents a hodgepodge of prints, not the least of which being the label’s trademark flame motif. Multiple colorways of the fiery graphic make their way onto items like puffer jackets, stickers and even a Christmas ornament to offer a festive seasonal hook. Unique all-over designs are also highlighted on pieces such as button-ups and hoodies, with depictions like broken glass and dirty keyboards bringing in yet another touch of novelty. A classic stripe, on the other hand, provides a more subtle break from the cheeky imprints.

Fabrication also makes a mark in the range through textured pieces that speak to the wintry season. A polka-dotted cardigan in mohair lends a fuzzy layering option, while satin chino pants are an easy holiday party pick-up. Meanwhile, a colorblocked varsity jacket accentuated with flocked logos and ribbed trim details serves as another standout. The looks are completed with accessories like bucket hats, caps and beanies, circling back to the underlying sportswear aesthetic.

The Winter 2019 collection is slated to release on December 20 at 9 a.m. PST via GOLF WANG’s webstore, with an in-store roll-out to follow at the brand’s Los Angeles flagship on December 21.

Referencing sports for inspiration has become increasingly popular in fashion as of late. In October, Balmain and PUMA linked up for a unisex boxing-inspired collaboration, while Nike teamed with Inter Milan and Pirelli for a racing-centric collection the same month.
