KUON SS20 Highlights Japanese Sakiori Weave and Boro Patchwork
The craft-focused label elevates heritage with slouchy layers.

Craft-focused clothing label KUON revamps its signature detailing for Spring/Summer 2020, elevating the militaria of Fall/Winter 2019 into a sophisticated array of laid-back looks. Modeled by emerging rapper Yoshi24k, the new range brings to life a host of precious textiles, intricate details and relaxed silhouettes.
Key details of the new assortment include lightweight salt-washed nylons, layered boro patchwork, washed denim and shirts and sweats trimmed with sakiori, a historic Japanese rug weaving technique. These textiles and treatments inform KUON’s various stylistic inclinations, which include boxy chore coats, haori jackets and baggy jeans, all intended to be mixed and matched with ease. Uncompromising quality ensures that each item, from the deeply-pleated slacks to the boxy T-shirts, is finished to exacting standards, meaning that there isn’t a stitch out of place or a piece of hardware in danger of decomposition.
KUON stockists like FortyFiveTen and various Japanese boutiques like WISM and IN will offer the new range early next year.
Elsewhere in Japan, Suicoke introduced its own Spring/Summer 2020 range, which includes the ever-divisive “toe shoes.”
