Lucky Daye Taps Ty Dolla $ign, Wale for "Roll Some Mo" Remix
The original version is nominated for two Grammy awards.
The hits just keep on coming from New Orleans-bred R&B artist Lucky Daye, who today released a remix to his Grammy-nominated single “Roll Some Mo.” For the new rendition, Daye has recruited Ty Dolla $ign and Wale to add their takes to the impassioned track with new heartfelt verses of their own.
The original version of the song was shared in October of 2018, which led up to the release of Daye’s debut album, Painted, this past May. In addition to snatching a couple of nods for “Roll Some Mo” at the upcoming Grammys (best R&B Song and best R&B Performance), he’s also received nominations for best R&B album and best traditional R&B performance, marking an impressive round of acknowledgments for the emerging singer.
His impact has been further solidified by several event appearances over the last year, including the 2019 BET Awards and Afropunk Atlanta. Daye also made his way to NPR‘s Tiny Desk Concert in June and returned a few months later with Raphael Saadiq for the Tiny Desk Fest. He’s since made stops in Australia and New Zealand while joining Khalid on tour this fall.
