Tyler, The Creator‘s long-running partnership with Converse, known as GOLF le FLEUR*, continues on with a brand-new silhouette dubbed the GLF Gianno Ox. Arriving in two colorways, the GLF Gianno Ox is vastly different from the sleek retro stylings of GOLF’s previous Chuck 70 and One Star collaborations, opting instead for a chunky outdoors-inspired construction.
Arriving in both Nike ACG-esque “Bright Concord” and natural-hued “Cuban Sand” makeups, the design sits in the unique grey area between sneaker and boot. The “Bright Concord” combines a vibrant purple base with buttery brown leather overlays, accenting itself even further with pops of orange, yellow and teal. Meanwhile, the “Cuban Sand” melds a trifecta of tan tones on its upper, with hits of black on the tongue and heel adding stark contrast.
Although the schemes are wildly different, some of the accents are similar. Each shoe features debossed GOLF branding on its midfoot and tongue, special stamps on the sockliners, and strips of high-vis reflective material running through the midfoot accents, eyestays and heel. Both are then completed by a beefy two-tone midsole — olive on the “Bright Concord,” tan on the “Cuban Sand” — and all-terrain tread outsole with cobranded details.
This isn’t the first time GOLF has presented unique collaborative product in recent months, as they also teamed up with Suicoke for two DEPA-CAB sandals. As any supporter of Tyler and his brand knowns, you’ve got to expect the unexpected, and the GLF Gianno Ox is certainly that.
Fans can expect a release at retailers like Sneakersnstuff on November 11. The MSRP is set at $120 USD.
