Apple TV+'s 'Servant' Trailer Presents M. Night Shyamalan's New Psychological Thriller
A therapy doll and a nanny introduce supernatural forces to a family’s life.
The official trailer for Apple TV+ and director M. Night Shyamalan‘s Servant has surfaced, finally shedding some light on how this psychological thriller about an artificial baby will develop. Created by Tony Basgallop, Shyamalan is thus far confirmed to executive produce and direct the first episode.
In the footage above, we are introduced to a young family that’s taking care of an artificial doll as a form of therapy following the tragic loss of their real baby only 13 weeks after his birth. The couple hires a nanny — unfazed by the recovery method that involves this lifelike child replica — to help look after the fake child, Jericho. As the father and his friend begin to question if the nanny is delusional, supernatural occurrences begin to plague the household. The so-called “lifeless child,” ostensibly a treatment for postpartum depression and a mother’s trauma, leads only to further grief.
Servant‘s first season is expected to be ten 30-minute episodes, with more information about other directors thus far unknown. Check out the trailer above and catch Servant November 28 exclusively on Apple TV+.
