Prada continues its run of formal sneaker hybrids with the release of its chunky-sole leather brogue sneaker. First introduced during the label’s Fall/Winter 2019 runway show, the brogue hybrids combine both formal design cues with the forever-trending chunky sneaker aesthetic, alongside a black colorway indebting the silhouette in sophistication.
The smooth black leather and complementing black sole unit play into the collection’s gothic-inspired theme, which drew inspiration from “trashy horror movies,” as said by Miuccia Prada herself. The shoes’ brogue detailing is traditional in approach, with decorative perforations adorning the toe and wrapping along the shoe, all the way round to the heel.
The shoe’s contrasting sole unit is bold in size yet minimal in style. It sports a smooth finish and seven segmented lugs along its base, adding height to the sartorially-inspired sneaker. Debossed Prada branding on the rear heel and black sneaker laces round out this hybrid offering.
