Prada has expanded its ongoing commitment to sustainable circularity with the debut of its Re-Cashmere and Re-Wool initiatives, translating the eco-minded ethos behind Re-Nylon into natural animal fibers. These projects focus upstream by gathering pre-consumer offcuts, spinning residues, and factory surplus directly from Prada Group facilities, such as its knitwear site in Torgiano, Italy.
The collected fibers are sorted by color to bypass additional chemical dyeing processes before being carded and spun into new yarns. To ensure complete transparency, every garment is embedded with an NFC tag linked to the Aura Blockchain Consortium platform, granting customers digital certificates of authenticity and end-to-end traceability detailing supply chain processing stages and fiber origin.
Crafted entirely in Italy across specialized workshops in Tuscany and Umbria, the collection centers on timeless, layerable ready-to-wear built for everyday wearability. Re-Cashmere – constructed from 100% GRS-certified recycled cashmere and SFA-certified sustainable raw inputs – takes shape as refined men’s and women’s sweaters. Meanwhile, Re-Wool blends RWS-certified virgin wool with recycled wool and cashmere through a specialized wet shredding technique, yielding structured trousers, blouson jackets, skirts, and dresses. Because production relies strictly on available factory remnants, every piece is inherently limited in quantity.
The Prada Re-Cashmere & Re-Wool collection officially debuted this part as part of the FW26 range and is available now globally via Prada.com and select Prada boutiques
