Oversized sneaker branding recently gained notoriety when Nike tweaked its Air Max 90 and Air Max 95, but the big logo front has mostly been quiet since then. Converse Japan looks to shake things up with its new “Hugepatch” Chuck Taylor All-Star Hi, a trio of classic Chuck Taylors elevated with enormous lateral side branding.

The logo is now so big that it actually bleeds onto the heel, making the Converse star and “Chuck Taylor” branding unmissable. Normal detailing appears elsewhere, with black foxing on the midsole, a solid-toned canvas upper and white laces completing the new design.

Expect the new silhouette to hit Japan in June. Converse Japan has issued a spate of new Chuck Taylor Hi designs, ranging from a GORE-TEX-lined iteration to a zipper variant designed by SOPHNET.
