Japanese timepiece giant Casio is adding another model to its luxury G-SHOCK MR-G line. Following up on a previously-released Akazonae red edition inspired by traditional Japanese military commanders, the latest design is an all-black MRG-G2000CB makeup drawing from Kuro-Zonae (“Black Guard”) samurai warriors of the past — a unit of fighters who wore all dark armor. The blacked-out watch is coated in DLC and boasts a bezel made of Cobarion, a new material that is two to three times stronger than stainless steel and polished to a mirror-like finish for a jewel effect.

The center of the watch’s feature set is Casio’s Connected Engine 3-way technology, which will accurately adjust the time anywhere in the world via your smartphone’s time server or through terrestrial radio-wave or GPS signal.
