MB&F's New HM8 Only Watch Blends Timeless Luxury with Youthful Creativity

The creative minds behind Swiss watch brand MB&F have crafted a high-end product for a good cause. Produced for the 2017 Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy charity celebration, MB&F’s HM8 rework takes its inspirational cues from all the quirky childhood pleasures that fuel the imagination of the young. From ice cream cones and video game controllers to robots and toy vehicles, the designs featured here are a unique break from the norm of stuffy luxury watch collections.
While the exterior might evoke fond childhood memories, the technical aspects that keep the new HM8 thriving are as serious as they come. Motivated by the Can-Am race, the Horological Machine N°8 — which is billed as an “automotive-inspired creation” — is all muscle and might. On the other end, the playful engravings that lay on top of the HM8 engine come from the inquisitive, youthful mind of 15-year-old Cassandra Legendre.
