Saweetie To Drop 2 New Singles “Shot O’ Clock” and “Birthday”
The latter track features appearances from Tyga and YG.
Saweetie is amping up her efforts this summer with the release of not one, but two new songs, both of which will be out on Friday, July 28.
The first track is called “Shot O’ Clock,” which is produced by London On Da Track. “Shot O’ Clock” samples Suzanne Vega’s famous 1982 song “Tom’s Diner” for a fast-paced version of the punchy, folksy original.
The second song sees Saweetie team up with Tyga and YG for “Birthday.”
“Goin’ live on my birthday / Spent a hundred racks on a new chain,” she raps. “B*tches goin’ dumb, we goin’ insane / You can race with us, but it ain’t safe.”
The rapper is planning to deliver a music video for “Birthday,” in addition to rolling out the track on streaming services.
Saweetie recently gave an update on her highly-anticipated debut album Pretty Bitch Music LP, which has been delayed for about two years, saying she wants the record to sound “cohesive” and hopes to release it by the end of 2023.
“Honestly, it’s like, it’s a balance of just excitement and stress because I want to put it out, but it’s also just that stress of like, dang, I been on the scene for a while,” she told E! News. “It was supposed to come out the year before, last year, the year after that, so it’s just kind of like, I’m trying to make all the songs make sense because when I put out this album, I want people to really understand my story.”
Saweetie’s “Shot O’ Clock” and “Birthday” are out for streaming on Friday, July 28.
In other music news, Kwengface enlisted Joy Orbison and Overmono for “Freedom 2.”
