Recently, Electronic Arts announced the split of EA Sports and EA Games, renaming the latter to EA Entertainment. Despite this, both divisions are still gearing up for several exciting releases. For EA Sports, Madden 24 is just around the corner. To celebrate this, EA Sports has reconnected with Nike to prepare a Madden-themed Air Max 90 collaboration.

Aside from the EA Sports-branded patch at the tongue, the collaboration is immediately recognizable with its football-inspired presentation. An almost-black shade of brown outfits the base with overlays appearing in a smooth dark brown leather and pebbled brown leather that mimics a football’s texture. Its black Swooshes are outlined in gold, matching each side’s Air Max branding, while Madden‘s “Play Like Mad” slogan has been debossed at the lateral. A bright blue touches down at the heel, outsole and also breaks up the otherwise black midsole. Elsewhere, red adorns the lining, Air unit and appears at the sockliner that showcases the NFL badge.

As of now, Nike has yet to share any release information regarding its latest project with EA Sports — the Air Max 90 “Play Like Mad.” With Madden 24 scheduled to release on August 18 of this year, it’s likely that this pair’s release will take place at a similar time.

For more of the latest headlines in the footwear space, Fortnite has joined forces with Nike for another campaign — “Airphoria” — featuring an Air Max-themed virtual world, in-game cosmetics and thematic apparel.
