Update: With Action Bronson’s highly anticipated New Balance 1906R “Rosewater” by Baklava set to touch down tomorrow, May 31, the rapper/chef/painter/bodybuilder/entertainer has issued a “statement” about the collaboration, one made in singular Bronsolino fashion.

“To have water that’s been extracted from a rose sprayed all over your face and your body … It’s truly one of the most decadent and luxurious things that you could have done to yourself in life. It’s the preservation of youth. It’s known to be in my favorite desserts. It’s something that lives within me. It’s that little droplet on the edge of the petal that seems like it’s just stuck there forever, and then gently falls upon you … splash. I really don’t know what else to say. These are all singular pieces of my soul and my art. Enjoy it.”

Aside from Bronson’s statement, new photos of the shoe, captured by Tyler “Arab Lincoln” Mansour have been revealed. Expect the Action Bronson x New Balance 1906 “Rosewater” to touch down on the Baklava Flea Market webstore tomorrow, May 31.

Update: Action Bronson has been quiet since January about his three collaborative colorways of the New Balance 1906R that are on the way this year. However, he’s just taken to Instagram to share that it’s finally time for the aerobics-inspired “Rosewater” colorway to land on shelves, sharing that May 31 will be its launch date. While he doesn’t specify where to purchase pairs or what their cost will be, he does note that a “FIRE COLLECTION OF GEAR” will be dropping alongside the long-awaited sneaker. Stay tuned for a closer look at the pair as we eagerly await its debut next week and review our previous breakdowns below for more info.

Update: A day after revealing the outsole of his Baklava x New Balance 1906R “Rosewater,” Action Bronson has provided the first full look at the forthcoming shoe. A duo of blurry photos posted to Bronson’s Instagram Stories show that it’ll be arriving in both adult and kid sizes, and Bronson also revealed that the shoe is inspired by “women’s colorways,” more specifically the practice of male sneaker lovers buying larger sizes in women’s pairs so they can rock different styles.

“THIS IS ALREADY THE MOST POLARIZING SNEAKER OF 2024 you just wait,” the caption trumpets. “My love for the women’s color way has no end. Women’s aerobics meets Me. I’ve been collecting sneakers for 37 years. If you a true sneaker head you know about coppin the women’s joints.”

Unsurprisingly, the shoe’s upper is just as colorful as its outsole, featuring a white midfoot and toebox adorned with a plentiful helping of reflective silver details. There’s also a melange of pink, purple, blue and neon green accents, all of which appear atop a bright orange midsole. The kid’s pair features many of the same details as its full-sized counterpart, save for replacing its lacing system with a large midfoot strap.

Check out the original story below for more info, and expect the Baklava x New Balance 1906R “Rosewater” to drop sometime in 2024.

Original Story: 2023 was a major year for Action Bronson in the sneaker game as his work with New Balance on the 990v6 via his Baklava label was embraced by fans and sneakerheads alike, ultimately earning him a spot in this year’s Hypebeast100 list.

Running with this momentum, the dynamic duo has turned its focus to the 1906R as back in June the artist revealed his own version of the shoe in an orange and yellow “Scorpius” colorway. Following this, he showcased a blue “Medusa Azul” pair in October and has now revealed the third entry in the forthcoming series — a pink and white “Rosewater.” In the one image preview, the “Rosewater” pair appears with a multicolored outsole comprised of brown hues and red and blue accents. Elsewhere, the small portion of the upper that is visible confirms the design to sport a white and pink upper, with its magenta-esque shade hitting the 1906R’s heel cage while a bright yellow adorns the laces.

At the time of writing, neither Action Bronson nor New Balance have shared any specifics when it comes to the launch of their collaborative colorways across the 1906R, including this “Rosewater” pair. However, Bronson noted that this design will be released at some point during 2024 so stay tuned for updates as we expect it to arrive via Baklava, New Balance and select retailers in the new year.
