Amsterdam-based Pop Trading Company has connected with Nottingham’s Paul Smith for a collaborative capsule that merges skatewear with intricate tailoring.

As a whole, the collection brings the DNA of both brands together. For example, the new-school mentality of Pop Trading Company’s forward-thinking designs — seen across a slew of technical outerwear garments — are combined with the classic Paul Smith multicolored stripes that have been synonymous with the brand since its inception in 1970.

Smith’s signature stripe remains an overarching feature in its new collection with Pop Trading Company, running across an assemblage of logo T-shirts, knitwear, socks, jersey, and reimagined accessories. Most impressively, Paul Smith’s classic branding is applied to a new skateboard, while the remainder of the skate-ready attire comes in the form of a reversible pop-over hooded technical jacket, a vest, relaxed polos, bucket hats, and casual shirts.

Meanwhile, more intricate tailoring — in classic PS style — has been welcomed for a new cardigan blazer, while the coordinating wide-leg trousers are crafted in a corduroy fabric. The Tulip Print is also applied to a new utility vest and rounding off the collection, new graphics — made of reinterpreted photo prints from a Paul Smith vintage show in the ’90s — are applied to new crewneck tees.

You can check out the lookbook for the new Pop Trading Company x Paul Smith collection above and it is available to shop via the official Paul Smith website from April 20.
