Catch a Glimpse of the Nike Air Max 90 G "Desert"
Complete with melted Swoosh and scorched paneling.
Nike has provided a first look of the scorching Air Max 90 Golf “Desert,” just don’t stare for too long.
The reveal takes place alongside the Air Max 1 Golf “US Open” and “Always Fresh,” both limited edition tournament themed releases for golf’s major championships, and the “Desert” likely honors the WM Phoenix Open which takes place Super Bowl weekend. And as one of the rowdiest tournament in golf famous for the bedlam which takes place on the 16th hole, it’s only fitting that the sneaker lets out its wild side.
Taking a closer look, the most salient features come by way of the melting Swoosh shimmering in purple and green, as well as the crackled crimson red panel depicting scorched earth. Moving on from there, we see a more understated white mesh base layer with cream leather overlays, then dark grey quarters and sock liners. For the branding, flaming yellow and red golf balls center up on the tongues, while the Nike Air logos sit atop bright red heel overlays.
Things get crazy once again with the insoles, where a golfer plays in an abstracted desert landscape of red and orange against dark cacti silhouettes. Lastly, a translucent pink and orange outsole reveals a blank and white striped pattern underneath. While no official release date is listed, keep your eyes peeled because the Phoenix Open starts February 9, 2023.
