Update: Throughout the year, various rumors regarding the return of the Nike Air Foamposite One “Anthracite” have popped up. Now, Nike has gone ahead and revealed the sneaker in its entirety. As expected, the all-black look stays true to its original form while its release has been bumped up to December 12 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $240 USD.
Update: It looks like Nike is gearing up for a resurgence of the Air Foamposite One with classic looks such as the iconic “Galaxy” pair making a return next year. Originally, its “Anthracite” colorway was said to be releasing this holiday season, however, rumors courtesy of @zSneakerHeadz are now pointing to a spring 2024 release at a price of $240 USD.

Original Story: Nike is noticeably looking to bring back several hoop catalog classics this year, one of which reportedly is the Air Foamposite One “Anthracite” colorway. At the time of writing, no official images or information has been announced, but a report from Sole Retriever indicates that the kicks could be arriving sometime during the 2023 holiday season.
The Nike Air Foamposite One “Anthracite” was first introduced to the market in 2007, and last saw a retro release in 2020. If the reports are true, it’s likely that it will return with all of its OG design elements. That would mean everything from the ribbed side panels to the nubuck overlays that sit adjacent to the throat to the mesh tongues and sole units would be smothered in its titular shade.
The last time we saw an all-black Foamposite One land on the scene was COMME des GARÇONS’ two-piece capsule that launched in 2021 and struck up new momentum for the retro hoops silhouette. There won’t be any zen garden-inspired textures on this forthcoming reissue, but if you’re looking to pick up a Foamposite that flies under the radar and is just as sleek, these might be a good pair to save your coin for.
