Marni on Monday revealed that it will take to Paris Fashion Week for the first time this September. The brand will present its men’s and women’s Spring/Summer 2024 VOL.2 collection on September 27 at 1:30 p.m. CET in a central-city palais that was once Karl Lagerfeld’s private residence.
The Paris show will mark the latest stop on the Milan-founded luxury label’s global fashion tour. Marni first exited Italy last year to stage its Spring/Summer 2023 show under the Manhattan Bridge during September’s New York Fashion Week. The brand then showed its Fall/Winter 2023 collection inside Tokyo’s Yoyogi National Gymnasium in February of this year. Now, Marni’s upcoming Paris Fashion Week show will serve to “continue amplifying dialogues and creative connections among its growing community” in France’s fashion capital.
“Marni’s journey continues,” said creative director Francesco Risso in a statement. “A dérive that found us under a bridge in Brooklyn last fall, a paper colosseum in Japan this February; but which started in 2020, when we couldn’t leave our homes at all, but had to leave behind the way we thought about fashion shows forever.”
“These departures were never about a destination — so if this season is something of a return — it is not to where we started,” he continued. “It’s to a city well suited to flaneurs like us. A city where I forgot that I first fell in love and, in being lost, found how to seek.”
Look out for Marni’s Spring/Summer 2024 runway at 51 Rue de l’Université on September 27, and stay tuned to Hypebeast for more Paris Fashion Week coverage.
