College football is back, and with a fresh batch of gridiron games set to be played over the coming months, Jordan Brand is inserting itself into the excitement by treating MJ’s alma mater with a special player exclusive. Ahead of the Tar Heel football program’s season opener against the South Carolina Gamecocks on September 2, the squad has just revealed its ultra-clean Air Jordan 12 “UNC” PE cleat.

The kicks borrow the shape of the Air Jordan 12 Low as well as the Chapel Hill-based university’s signature school colors. A majority of the base layer is fitted with multiple white leather panels and accompanied by pebbled leather mudguards that are dyed in a “University Blue” hue to match up with the interior liners and laces. In addition, metallic blue accents poke out through the midsole overlays and the eyelets, the former of which is debossed with a “Jumpman” hit. The tongues and heel tabs alternate their branding by having the Jumpman logo rest on one side while the UNC insignia adorns the other. Below, the field-ready cleats are styled in matching “University Blue” and white.

It’s likely that more Jordan-sponsored PE cleats will pop up over the course of the NCAA season, and we’ll be sure to update you when they surface.

For other news, Brandon Ingram recently inked an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand.
