If you’ve ever delved into the artistic design language of Ron English, then you’d know that he often panders to quirky characters and vivid colors, and that’s exactly what he delivers on this hardwood-ready installment. The stand-out element of these KD 14s are the straps as they have been revamped to look like chiseled wings and feature a set of two oval-shaped molds on the medial side. And as if that design feature wasn’t already whimsical, English applies a brilliant shirring pattern throughout the base layer that is color-blocked with turquoise, lapis blue, yellow, red and pink accents and provides a 3D effect. Further accents can be found via the deep indigo hits on the laces and interior liners as well as the insoles which also come ornamented with playful wallpaper.
Nike Japan is slated to drop this KD 14 “Ron English 1” colorway on September 2 for ¥20,900 (approx. $190 USD). It’s also important to point out that more team-ups between KD and Ron English may be in order as these are numbered as the first variation.
