A Ma Maniére Postpones Air Jordan 3 "Raised By Women" Release
To “create space for the community to reflect and focus its efforts on collective support from the emotional toll of the aftermath of the George Floyd trial verdict.”

A Ma Maniére and Jordan Brand have postponed the release of the Air Jordan 3 “Raised By Women.” Though the shoe — inspired by the strength of Black women — was originally supposed to release today, April 21, the Whitaker Group (A Ma Maniére’s parent company) and founder James Whitner decided it was more important to “create space for the community to reflect and focus its efforts on collective support from the emotional toll of
the aftermath of the George Floyd trial verdict and killing of a 15-year old Black girl in Ohio.” See Whitner’s full statement on the postponement below.
“This day and this moment cannot be overshadowed by sneakers. We must take the time to take stock of what this moment means for Black folks and what we must demand from our criminal and justice system. As we call justice served, more lives are lost. A 15-year old Black girl lost her life yesterday as the verdict was announced. It’s a constant empty feeling for us, our reality is never easy. We need this time to come together and look after one another. Nothing is bigger than our community right now.”
The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 3 “Raised by Women” is now set to release via the A Ma Maniére webstore on April 28 at 12 PM EST. Raffle winners from the Women’s Early Access draw and the general raffle have already been selected and notified.
