The 1985 classic gets dressed with neutral schemes and a touch of “University Red” branding.
When analyzing the success of Nike and its footwear department in recent memory, a sizable amount of the credit has to go to the resurgence of the Dunk. The 1985 silhouette has been on a hot streak in terms of releasing in collaborative styles and nostalgic “Be True To Your School” colorways, and now it’s set to add one more iteration to its 2021 calendar: the Dunk High “Panda”.
The pair’s moniker is an accurate reflection of its palette as both of its top and bottom halves are mostly reliant on black and white skins. The stealthy coating is applied to the kicks’ smooth leather overlays, Swoosh logos, interior liners and the shoe strings, while the collars, quarters, tongues and toe boxes are left with an angelic outer. It’s essentially a higher cut variation of the Nike Dunk Low “Black/White” that released earlier in the year, however this specific offering bears a tiny hint of “University Red” accents that poke out through the tongue’s Nike Air branding. The foundation of the shoes also opts for the neutral-focused aesthetic as the midsoles are done up with a crisp white and coupled with all-black treading.
Early reports have these slated to launch sometime during Summer 2021, but Nike hasn’t confirmed its release date just yet.
In case you missed it, release dates for the sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle “Dark Iris” and “Sesame” have surfaced.
