Compelling collaborations from Vans are popping up left and right throughout this first semester of 2021. Following up the 50th anniversary project with Bodega and the tennis-inspired collection with Penn, the Anaheim-based skateboarding brand has now recruited SE Bikes for a footwear and apparel collection that pays homage to bike life culture.

For this initiative, the two entities utilize three offerings of the Vans Style 36 — the 1978 forefather of today’s classic Old Skool — and replete it with heavy BMX-influenced energy. Jazz stripes and medial backgrounds of each pair bear checkerboard patterns, and the tongues are adorned with retro looking patches of logos from the duo of brands. Additionally, each take is a nod to a different iconic SE Bike, and spells out the name of each vehicle on across the midsoles. The red/blue pair honors the “Big Ripper”, while the white pair is dedicated to the “Blocks Flyer and the black option calls out the “P.K. Ripper”.

Alongside the shoes are apparel items including graphic tees, hoodies fleece shorts and a long sleeve knit shirt, as well as a camper hat and fanny pack.

The Vans x SE Bikes collection is available now via select Vans retailers.

Previously, Vans Vault teamed up with Wacko Maria for a music-themed Authentic collection.
