It looks like Disney Plus is changing with the times with its newest move in blocking access to some of its older animated films — going a step further than just adding a 12-second disclaimer.

Due to a past of racist stereotypes, classic animated films like Peter Pan, Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, Dumbo, and The Jungle Book are no longer accessible to kids accounts and will require adult permission for viewing.

Even under an adult account, the movies still prompt a warning:

This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.

Disney is committed to creating stories with inspirational and aspirational themes that reflect the rich diversity of the human experience around the globe.

As a kid, these stereotypes and traits of the characters in the films are often missed or not understood at all, and in taking this action, Disney is preventing any chance that those ill-informed tropes and preconceived notions will follow said children into their later years.

This is just one way Disney is enforcing its push for diversity and social responsibility. Have a look at some jarring examples below, I bet you never realized them as a kid.
