Ty Dolla $ign Shows His Lady's "Expensive" Taste With Nicki Minaj in New Video (UPDATE)
A possible new cut from his upcoming album ‘Dream House.’
UPDATE (August 26, 2020): Ty Dolla $ign‘s “Expensive” has arrived alongside a new music video rich in visual FX. In the footage above, Ty enjoys his lavish life in a mansion, poolside alongside his lady who is used to a certain lifestyle. But even though the rapper knows she’s expensive, she’s worth it.
However, when he helps unload her luxury after shopping he’s hit with an absurd number of gifts that fill up the screen and knock him to the ground. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj appears at an angle that doesn’t show off her baby bump to re-affirms Ty’s sentiments. Check out the video.
ORIGINAL STORY (August 25, 2020): Ty Dolla $ign has announced a collaborative joint with Nicki Minaj entitled “Expensive,” set to drop on Friday, August 28.
The upcoming release was initially previewed by Minaj in March 2020 and follows Ty Dolla $ign’s July 2020 cut “Ego Death” with Kanye West, Skrillex and FKA twigs. While “Ego Death” is billed as the lead single of his upcoming studio record Dream House, it’s still unconfirmed if fans will see “Expensive” join the album tracklist.
Dream House was announced a few days after the release of “Ego Death” and is the rapper’s first full-length since 2017’s Beach House 3. “Everybody got a dream house in they head and you gotta strive to get to it and it’s possible, so that’s what I’m all about, getting to where you supposed to go,” Ty Dolla $ign said in REAL 92.3 interview. He mentioned that the album “is done and it’s coming very soon,” but a release date is yet to be announced.
