New Balance 991 Made in UK Drops In Sporty Yellow and Blue
A summer-appropriate style for the ever-popular heritage silhouette.
2020 may be the year of the 992 and 327 for New Balance, but the cult classic 991 is rolling right along as well. For its latest makeup, it’s appeared in a vibrant yellow and blue colorway. Made to original specifications in the UK, this 991 is sporty in palette and stately in build.
Grey mesh and yellow suede meet on the upper. The former serves as a base layer — one that’s most notable on the toebox and around the collar — while the latter is swathed over mudguards, midfoot overlays, heels and eyestays. Blue is mainly relegated to the branded accents, gracing the quarter panel, tongue and heel’s hits.
Grey leather pieces are a final entrant to the material mix, and yellow laces hold things together both literally and figuratively. On the lower half, ABZORB midsoles are split between grey and white foam with extra dashes of blue rounding off the look.
The New Balance 991 Made in UK “Yellow/Blue” is available now at the New Balance webstore, and retails for $220 USD.
