Aminé Taps Empire of the Sun's Luke Steele for New "Hello" Collaboration
A surprise single following his recent sophomore album, ‘Limbo.’
Portland, Oregon rapper Aminé returns with a surprise single titled “Hello” featuring Luke Steele, member of the Australian electro-pop group Empire of the Sun just weeks from delivering his dynamic sophomore album Limbo, a project that debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with features from Young Thug, slowthai, Injury Reserve and Summer Walker. It’s unclear why this song didn’t make its way onto the official album, but it’s worth listening to regardless.
Aminé has proven that crossing genre lines is an area in which he thrives (his “Hunnybee” Remix of Unknown Mortal Orchestra‘s hit is a prime example.) The same can be said about this collaboration. The song was produced by frequent collaborator Pasqué and The Stereotypes and finds Luke Steele’s vocals holding down the chorus duties. It’s vibrant, up-beat and just experimental enough. It should also make a perfect companion to Limbo (which you should still be featuring in your rotation, by the way).
Earlier this month, Aminé channeled his inner Wes Anderson for his “Compensating” visual featuring Young Thug and teamed up with Disclosure and slowthai for “My High.” He also dropped his infectious homage to Rihanna with his track “Riri.”
