Official Images of the Japan-Exclusive Nike Air Max Zoom 950
An avant-garde homage to the beloved Air Max 95.
Through the long and rich lineage of Nike‘s Air Max products, few silhouettes stand out as much as the Air Max 95 — a shoe that’s celebrating its 25th anniversary by way of an entirely new Air Max Zoom 950 silhouette. Debuting exclusively in Japan as a nod to the AM95’s immense popularity in the island nation, this new Nike Sportswear sneaker is past, present and future all wrapped up into a single striking package.
Much as the Sergio Lozano-designed Air Max 95 drew from the human anatomy, the Zoom 950 uses layers and lines to hammer home its inspiration. Semi-translucent synthetic mesh appears on the neutral-colored grey base and is overlaid by a red Swoosh and swooping, printed design lines that are almost Air Max 97-esque in nature. Fabric lace loops poke out from under this assemblage, with a stripped-back black neoprene tongue and grey toe bumper holding down the forefoot.
Heels serve the shoe’s signature detail with a printed Japanese flag graphic, while midsoles are split between neon-toned Zoom Air pucks in the forefoot and bulbous black Air Max 270-style units in the heel. Black and neon outsoles round off the look.
The Nike Air Max Zoom 950 “Japan” will release via Nike SNKRS Japan and atmos on August 19. The MSRP is set at ¥21,450 JPY (approximately $204 USD).
