Jeff Bezos is officially the first person to have a $200 billion USD net worth.

According to reports, Amazon‘s 2 percent stock increase on August 26 upped the founder’s net worth by $4.9 billion USD, making his total fortune exactly $204.6 billion USD. Forbes notes that Bezos’ fortune may be the largest ever amassed, even after adjusting for inflation.

The continuous rise in Amazon’s stock prices reflects the changing habits of consumers due to COVID-19, showing the increase in online shopping trends. Bezos broke his own record as the richest man alive in July 2020 then followed it up by increasing his net worth by $13 billion USD in one day — all done despite the United States suffering from the weakest economy since the Great Depression.

Bezos is now $90 billion USD ahead of Bill Gates, the second-richest person in the world, who is currently worth $116.1 billion USD.

Elsewhere in tech, Microsoft released a nostalgic Windows 95 video celebrating its 25th anniversary.
