Conway The Machine's New Track "Fear of God" Enlists Dej Loaf
The latest ‘From King to a God’ single is produced by Hit-Boy.
Conway The Machine‘s new album is one of early autumn’s most anticipated hip-hop records. From King to a GOD is out September 11 via Drumwork/Griselda/EMPIRE. After premiering its lead single in “Lemon” featuring a standout verse from a resurgent Method Man, Conway is back with his latest offering, “Fear of God” featuring Dej Loaf.
While a Wu-Tang Clan x Griselda Records collaboration was an inevitable pairing that was highly-anticipated, it ultimately was expected due to how the legendary crew aligns with Griselda’s sensibilities of golden-era hip-hop homages. Tapping Dej Loaf on the other hand was a surprising development that works wonders with the Detroit emcee and singer-songwriter taking over chorus duties. “Fear of God” was produced by Hit-Boy fresh off his collaborative project with Nas. Throughout his verses, Conway lambasts critics for not including him in their top five, thanks Westside Gunn for laying the foundation for Griselda’s success and continues his run as one of the genre’s premiere lyricists.
Earlier this year, Conway teamed up with producer Big Ghost LTD for No One Mourns The Wicked and addressed the ongoing police brutality issue in America following the death of George Floyd in the politically-charged “Front Lines”.
