Microsoft Release Nostalgic 'Windows 95' Video Celebrating 25th Anniversary

Microsoft released a short 38-second clip celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Windows 95 operating system, showcasing just how far its come since its launch on August 24, 1995. The video above showcases the original gray start menu before it begins to highlight how the interface of the OS and its many popular applications like Solitare, Paint, and even the menu’s taskbar changed aesthetically throughout the years.
Windows 95 was one of the most innovative pieces of software in the history of computer operating systems, introducing an intuitive user interface, plug-and-play functionality, and multitasking support. These functions greatly enhanced the accessibility of computers to the general public, creating a much more friendly user experience than ever before. Microsoft is currently servicing Windows 10 through upgrades such as 98, 2000, ME, XP, Vista, and 7, which are based on the original Windows 95.
