Watch Billie Eilish's New NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert Performance
Billie recreated NPR’s Tiny Desk set in her own space with cardboard cut-outs.
Billie Eilish returns with her latest live performance as her and brother/collaborator Finneas recreated the sorely missed set from NPR Tiny Desk through cardboard cut-outs in their home studio. Billie performed her new hit “My Future” and “Everything I Wanted” (for which she released a somber music video to back in January.)
“Well obviously we are not actually at Tiny Desk because this is a cardboard cut-out of it but it’s still real, it’s just not in-person real,” Billie revealed to her online audience. “But I’m honored to be here, we’ve been watching this for years… Quarantine’s been weird. I know you all feel the same, it’s been weird, we don’t know how long it’s gonna go. There’s barely anything that feels like there’s any hope but I think the future is something to be super hopeful in — and the unknown and what is to come and you know? We’ll be okay one day, maybe not right now but that’s what’s making me hold on.”
Earlier this month Billie slammed Donald Trump during the 2020 Democratic National Convention for his policies and handling of the coronavirus and urged her fans and those tuning in to be sure to vote. This election will be the first time that she’s eligible to vote as well as the five-time GRAMMY Award-winner is just 18-years-old. Billie has continued to be a vocal advocate for social justice issues and joined Tyler, The Creator in calling out record labels and award shows for their use of the “urban” category. Back in May she also discussed body shaming in a short film.
