Phoebe Bridgers returns with her third music video from her sophomore album Punisher, one of HYPEBEAST’s Best 25 Albums of 2020… So Far, with “I Know the End.” The track closes her latest full-length LP on a remarkably grim note, accepting the end of the world with open arms.

“No, I’m not afraid to disappear/ The billboard said the end is near/ I turned around, there was nothing there/ Yeah, I guess the end is here,” she sings in the song’s final verse. The video was directed by Alissa Torvinen and follows Phoebe through an empty locker room, each locker filled with her signature grey hoodie and skeleton onesie. She then wanders through the corridors of a vacant stadium. As the music crescendos, Phoebe and her band play as loud as they can in the middle of the Los Angeles Colosseum as she sprints from the darkness. It’s a goodbye fitting of HBO’s The Leftovers. In the final shot, the singer looks into a bright light and covers her eyes before the screen cuts to black.

“I Know the End” is a near polar opposite to her “Kyoto” music video, a fun green-screened affair made after her plans to travel to Japan were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Phoebe has since championed inventive quarantine performances on Carpool Karaoke and Colbert — she even played Jimmy Kimmel Live with a “Live from the Lavatory” version of “Kyoto” from her Echo Park bathtub.

Bridgers has also announced as an upcoming appearance on The Record Club later tonight, Wednesday July 29 at 6.30PM BST (1:30AM EST) where she’ll break down her new album in detail. Watch Phoebe’s latest music video above and be sure to revisit her critically-acclaimed album Punisher below.

In more music news, 37 total new tracks were introduced for the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 Remaster Soundtrack.
