Watch Phoebe Bridgers Perform "I See You" in Remote 'Carpool Karaoke'
A COVID-19 segment of James Corden’s ‘The Late Late Show.’
After dropping her second solo album Punisher last week, Phoebe Bridgers staged her very own version of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke from the driver’s seat of her car. Before kicking off the COVID-19 edition of the show, Bridgers spoke to Corden about what she is doing instead of going on tour with The 1975, how her mother may be creating burner social media accounts to defend her and why she decided to release her album early.
For the live-from-home performance, Bridgers put on a helmet and pair of sunglasses before driving around a parking lot near her house and singing her hit single “I See You.” Featuring backing vocals from Jenny Lee, the track details her breakup with drummer and band member Marshall Vore. “But I feel something when I see you now,” she sings. “I feel something when I see you.” Producers added in shots of stunt drivers burning rubber around the parking lot and both aerial and side shots of sports cars drifting, ensuring that the latest Carpool Karaoke episode maintains the same humorous, light-hearted spirit as past ones.
