Mac DeMarco Previews New Song "Fooled By Love" on 'Colbert'

Mac DeMarco has returned, premiering a moving new track titled “Fooled By Love” featuring Jon Batiste. Mac introduced his new song on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert earlier today, playing guitar poolside by a rotating mask similar to the one he wore in his “On the Square” visual where he played a deformed pig.
DeMarco manages to mix his oddball sense of humor, something much needed for the times, with a somber and soft acoustic single featuring Stephen Colbert’s bandleader Jon Batiste on the keys, video-chatted in remotely for a cameo. It’s been over eight years since the singer-songwriter burst onto the scene with Rock and Roll Night Club and he’s managed to mature with each new offering along the way. He’s pensive here, reminiscing on falling for a new love just a little too readily.
