Phoebe Bridgers Shares New 'Punisher' Single, "I See You"
Her new album drops June 19.
A new cut from Phoebe Brigers‘ upcoming album Punisher is here. Entitled “I See You,” the indie rock musician revealed that the original title was “ICU” but had to change it because ” *gestures at entire world*.”
In a statement, Bridgers shared that the track is about her ex-boyfriend/drummer Marshall Vore, who actually co-wrote the song and played on it. “We dated for a few years, made music every day, and were extremely co-dependent. We became like family to each other, so our breakup was extremely tough. But if this tells you anything about our relationship, we wrote this song together, just like everything else.”
“I See You” follows predecessor singles “Garden Song” and “Kyoto.” Punisher is slated to drop June 19 via Dead Oceans.
