The movie releases September 25
The first official trailer for A24 and Lance Oppenheim’s PRIMETIME is here. Starring Robert Pattinson as To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen, the biographical film is inspired by true events that follows the origins of the popular Dateline NBC series.
The dark trailer spotlights Pattinson’s Hansen as To Catch a Predator transforms into a mainstay in American households. Sting operations, teasers of violence, and the involvement of the law are evident across the two-minute video, along with Hansen’s desire to catch a “whale” of a predator that will give the show the recognition it “deserves.” He goes through lengths to make the series as successful as he possibly can, even with several people around him questioning his vigilante-style journalism.
Joining Pattinson in the cast are Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Phoebe Bridgers, Matthew Maher, and Bokeem Woodbine. The film is based on Luke Dittrich’s 2007 Esquire article, which details the event of one controversial sting operation.
