A24 has officially unveiled the second trailer for Primetime, the upcoming thriller directed by Lance Oppenheim and starring Robert Pattinson. The film delivers a dramatic spin on mid-2000s true-crime television, dissecting the unsettling reality behind investigative sting programs.
Set in 2006, the narrative follows host Chris Hansen (Pattinson) as he sets out to make broadcast history with the news show To Catch a Predator. As the series attempts to uncover and incriminate suspected pedophiles on air, the story explores the host’s own complex motives and the ethics of turning real-world crime enforcement into ratings-driven entertainment.
Directed by Oppenheim, the feature incorporates an ensemble cast including Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Matthew Maher, Phoebe Bridgers, Alex Winter, and Bokeem Woodbine. Primetime recently hosted its world premiere at the 2026 Venice Film Festival.
