Epic Games has announced the launch of a Captain America skin within Fortnite. The Marvel character is available now for download, ahead of the July 4 celebrations in the U.S.

Captain America is the most recent in a series of comic book characters to appear within the game: Deadpool became available as part of last season’s battle pass, and Black Widow and Star-Lord appeared within last year’s Avengers activation. DC characters including Batman, Harley Quinn and Catwoman have also been available in the past.

The Captain America skin can be purchased from the Fortnite in-game store, for the price of 2,000 V-bucks, the game’s internal currency (which equates to about $20 USD). The skin also includes the character’s famous shield, which can actually be used in-game by players who have purchased it.

A series of Captain America-themed emote fireworks will also go on sale for the Independence Day weekend.

Take a look at the new skin in the YouTube trailer above, and purchase it within Fortnite now.

In other gaming news, the director of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie adaptation has discussed the hurdles of bringing it to the big screen.
