Watch Daniel Arsham Unbox the Dior x Air Jordan 1 Low OG
Reportedly limited to just 4,700 pairs.
After unboxing his High iteration, Daniel Arsham is now back with an opening of his Dior x Air Jordan 1 Low OG. Gifted to the contemporary artist by Kim Jones and Dior Men’s Head Footwear Designer Thibo, the extremely limited lower take is reportedly one of 4,700 pairs made to celebrate the year that Christian Dior debuted his legendary New Look, 1947.
Kicking off the unboxing, Arsham offers a look at the special “AIR DIOR” Wing logo flip top box put together for the shoe which adds another element to the premium feel of the release. Upon opening, we are greeted by a matching dust bag and some tissue wrapping that obscures the collaboration.
The Italian made sneaker features an upper of buttery white leather accented by Dior’s first shades (“Dior Grey,” an homage to the sky above Christian Dior’s childhood home) from 1947 painted across a number of panels. Aside from an enlarged Nike Swoosh made from Dior’s Oblique motif, the remixed Dior Jumpman “Wings” logo, co-branded “AIR DIOR” tongue tag and debossed aglets serve as the additional branding on the exterior of the shoe.
Moving into the interior, we find a tonal Dior Oblique pattern throughout the padded tongue and a Dior Oblique loser-etched insole that continues the luxury branding. The inside of the shoe also features the limited numbering tag, with Arsham’s pair coming at pair #047. Elevating the collaboration are pure white midsoles and transparent outsoles that cover both brands’ names on alternate sides. Finally, hidden in the corner of the box are metal hangtags and extra laces placed in protective dust bags.
