Gunna Announces 'WUNNA' Album Release Date With New Documentary Trailer
Expect the Atlanta superstar’s next project to arrive later this month.
Gunna has announced his next full-length album WUNNA will release May 22 via Young Stoner Life Records and 300 Entertainment, previewing a new trailer for his upcoming documentary in partnership with Amazon Music.
It’s been over a year since the Atlanta superstar dropped his hit Drip or Drown 2, but it’s not like he took any time off afterwards. He’s been as prolific in the feature game as any artist in hip-hop, offering over 30 guest verses during his 2019-2020 campaign for some of the game’s biggest artists. Just last week alone he delivered three more with guest spots for Lil Durk, A.CHAL and another for close friend and frequent collaborator NAV.
The Spike Jordan-directed film follows Gunna through the recording of his new album in Jamaica with collaborators like Wheezy, Turbo, Taurus and Keys all getting shoutouts in the production department. Gunna first hinted at the new project with the original teaser trailer back in early March with his first “SKYBOX” single and music video following shortly after. The track saw Gunna lean into his pop sensibilities with an upbeat guitar-driven instrumental. The entire underwater allure of his Drip or Drown series was ditched for a sunnier vibe that cut through the usual smokey haze that the 26-year-old rapper has been associated with in the past. There’s no word yet on a tracklist, but stay tuned.
Watch the full-length trailer above and stay tuned for WUNNA to arrive on May 22. In more music news, Westside Gunn returned with a dual music video for his hit singles “Euro Step” and “No Vacancy.”
