Remastered Versions of 'Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater' Games to Arrive Soon
Announced in celebration of Tony Hawk’s birthday.
The first two original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater titles are getting a complete remaster called Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 from Vicarious Visions, the same developers that remastered the original three Crash Bandicoot and Spyrogames. The announcement comes in celebration of Tony Hawk‘s 52nd birthday.
The remaster is set to include all the original levels, skaters, and tricks from the original two games, as well as enhancements found in later iterations of the franchise, such as the revert, lip tricks, and wall plant. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will even recreate the original title’s iconic sounds with “a large majority of the original soundtrack” being featured.
According to Vicarious Visions “only a small handful of songs” didn’t make the cut. Returning artists Goldfinger, Powerman 5000, Bad Religion, Millencolin, Naughty By Nature, Papa Roach, Primus, Lagwagon, and Rage Against the Machine make appearances in the trailer above.
Previous modes like local split-screen, as well as new online multiplayer modes, will be incorporated into the remaster. Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater modes have been enhanced to include a more robust editor, according to the developers, with those custom parks being sharable online. The remaster will also support HDR lighting and 4K resolutions on PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One X, and capable PCs.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be available worldwide September 4 for $39.99 USD. A digital deluxe version that comes with unique content and gear will be available for $49.99 USD. Digital pre-orders are slated to arrive soon on PlayStation Store.
