New Live-Action 'Star Wars' Series Reportedly Coming to Disney+
Supposedly featuring a female lead.
A new live-action Star Wars series is reportedly heading to Disney+. According to sources, Leslye Headland, co-creator, showrunner and executive producer of Netflix‘s Russian Doll, will serve as the project’s writer and showrunner.
While the plot and character specifics are yet to be revealed, sources report that the forthcoming series will see a female lead. The untitled show will also supposedly take place in an era different from the other Star Wars projects on the Disney+ slate, meaning that direct crossovers with The Mandalorian, the Rogue One prequel series focused on Cassian Andor and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series are highly unlikely.
In related news, The Mandalorian has reportedly been renewed for season three.
