LI-NING Drops Retro Running-Inspired Furious Rider Ace 1.5
Alongside a muted beige iteration.
Chinese sportswear imprint LI-NING presents two new colorways of its Furious Rider Ace 1.5 for Spring/Summer 2020. The sneaker appears in a grey iteration as well as a beige offering, with both colorways covered in a mixture of materials and shades, giving the pairs a retro running aesthetic.
LI-NING’s first offering is the grey pair, which sports a leather and mesh upper that’s covered in cream and red components. A light grey mesh serves as the base, while cream leather is overlaid on top to add paneling and structure. Red appears around the textile collar, while dark grey cuts through the shoe with leather trims and details.
This grey pair also features a unique graphic that depicts a group of runners on a road in the style of an ’80s video game. It’s complete with branding that appears in a fittingly retro font. LI-NING’s second pair comes in beige, and takes on a much more muted theme.
Cream leather and mesh is contrasted very sparsely with sections of salmon-orange carving through the sneaker. Shapes and emblems adorn the tongue, while the footbed is printed with a running theme similar to the one found on the side of the grey pair. Both pairs are finished with a well-cushioned and supportive EVA sole unit, as well as hiking laces to complete the technical look.
