BlocBoy JB Drops Rich Visuals for “Out West” Freestyle
A cover of JACKBOYS’ original track.
BlocBoy JB is back with a brand new video. This time around, the rapper opted for a freestyle cover of JACKBOYS’ “OUT WEST” single, which originally featured Young Thug. It’s a fun one-off project that highlights BlocBoy JB’s lyrical prowess.
Measuring at two minutes and a half, the song features the same infectious midtempo instrumentals as the original song: ghoulish flute notes and hard-hitting 808 baselines sprinkled with moments of crisp 16th-note hi-hats. BlocBoy JB comes through with some noteworthy lyrics, like “Racks to my head you got two dollars / I just copped me a new mini draco for the new problems” and “No Biggie but they don’t know who shot ‘em / My shirt Michael Jordan it’s sick with the flu collar.” To accompany the song, the rapper is joined by his crew of friends, mobbing out to the track at a big mansion.
