Watch Janelle Monáe Take the Lead in Puzzling 'Homecoming' Season 2 Teaser
A puzzling new teaser.
Janelle Monáe is taking over leading lady duties for the second season of the Amazon Prime anthology series, Homecoming.
Amazon Prime released a puzzling teaser trailer for the upcoming season, which shows Monàe waking up on a boat alone and in the middle of a lake. She screams out for help and the visual cuts to clips briefly introducing other characters, including season 1’s Stephan James as Walter Cruz and Hong Chau as Audrey Temple. “You need to do what you think is right,” she says in a chilling voiceover. “But you must protect yourself because nobody else will.”
Aside from the departure of Julia Roberts from season 1, director Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot) will also not be returning for the upcoming season. Kyle Patrick Alvarez (The Stanford Prison Experiment) will be taking over for Esmail, but creators Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg are sticking around as showrunners.
