The Killers Announce New Album With "Caution" Single
Featuring a guitar solo from legendary Fleetwood Mac member Lindsey Buckingham.
The Killers are back. The Las Vegas, Nevada group return with their sixth studio album, Imploding The Mirage out May 29, 2020 via Island Records. The band reunites for the first time since 2017’s Wonderful Wonderful with their debut single “Caution” featuring a guitar solo from legendary Fleetwood Mac member Lindsey Buckingham, first previewed on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 broadcast. The cover art consists of Thomas Blackshear’s 1996 painting titled “Dance Of The Wind And Storm.”
The album was produced alongside Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado of Foxygen in Los Angeles, the band’s hometown of Las Vegas and Park City, Utah. “Caution” takes the band back to the days of Sam’s Town and Battle Born with an upbeat classic rock ballad that’s open, honest and endearing. Member Brandon Flowers sings, “I’m throwin’ caution, what’s it gonna be?/ Tonight the winds of change are blowing wild and free/ If I don’t get out, out of this town/ I just might be the one who finally burns it down.”
The group’s expansive tour was also announced today with a message about the current coronavirus crisis:
“People of Earth, greetings and salutations. We’ve been putting this tour together for a long time and we are extremely excited to finally share it with you. We have, of course, been paying close attention to the recent precautionary measures around the world and trust that the coronavirus is expected to follow traditional flu season patterns. We look forward to a great summer of shows. Look after each other – sing the chorus of “Mr. Brightside” when you wash your hands – and see you this summer.”
