Nike is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Nike Dunk by releasing a pair of university-inspired styles: the Nike Dunk Low SP “Syracuse” and the Nike Dunk Low SP “Kentucky.” The silhouette originally debuted as part of Nike’s 1985 College Colors program, which put the hues of 12 popular basketball programs onto the the sleekest, cleanest silhouette Nike had made to date. Now, after a strong year for the sneaker with the Travis Scott collab., the “Plum” Dunk Lows and the StrangeLove Skateboards collaboration, the footwear juggernaut returns to its roots, once again delivering collegiate colorways in “Syracuse” and “Kentucky.” Currently on StockX, the “Kentucky” blue colorway is going for an average price of $335 USD while trading at an expectedly high 240.5% over MSRP.
The Nike Dunk Low SP “Syracuse” sees its classic low-cut makeup doused in a white leather upper with “Orange Blaze” leather overlays. The Nike Dunk Low SP “Kentucky” offers the same construction of a white leather upper contrasted by “Varsity Royal” leather overlays. Additionally, both sneakers feature a white midsole with outsoles in the school’s colorway. Rounding out the design is classic “Nike” branding on the tongues of each.
