James Blake Shares Ghostly Cover of Billie Eilish's "When the Party's Over"
More tender-hearted vocals and piano chords from the British virtuoso.
Earlier this year James Blake returned to his roots by sharing a minimalistic cover of Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed,” reworking the track with a tender performance that employed his signature vocals and piano accompaniments. After covering Billie Eilish’s “When The Party’s Over” at a recent live show, the British virtuoso has now shared a ghostly performance of the sorrowful track via YouTube.
“Hiiii, haven’t had access to my piano recently but @steinwayandsons sent me one so I could keep this series going – here’s one of my favourites – Billie Eilish’s ‘When The Party’s Over’,” he shared. “P.s. what a ridiculously good song this is @billieeilish & @finneas.” Finneas retweeted Blake’s cover, noting that “On the list of things I feel grateful for, James ranks higher than just about everything.”
